Yay, I got time to scrap today!! Here's what I did:

A page about Leonie being creative, I love her creativity!! I used DumDaDum kit and alpha2 and scraplifted a LO by Snowdrop (Scrapmatters)

Here's a page about Leonie starting to recognize letters (after eating a bowl of M&Ms LOL). I used Colorful Memories and tried to follow the Roadmap to scrap (Scrapmatters)

And here's one for the Inspiration challenge (Scrapmatters) where I used a template by Sya's Blueprints (Movie-spiration take two) and my Captured kit and word-art.

Dum Da Dum, an ode to randomness + blogtrain

LOL, how great a title is that? But it makes total sense, since that's the name of my latest kit: Dum Da Dum. I was playing with these colors, and saw all kinds of random items in my head. I had P365 in my head too, so this kit is an ode to the random things in our daily lives, the ones we not always scrap about! What are things you see/use daily, the things you cannot do without? I challenge you to scrap those!

New CT gig!

I'm so happy, I got accepted as a CT member of Sya's Blueprints!! It's been a long time since I did any CT work, but I so love her templates, it makes scrapping so much easier. And it's great to scrap with someone elses stuff for a change ;)
Besides that: I totally love Scrapmatters as a store, so it's great to be a small part of that too!

She released a new template pack today, called Movie Inspiration take two. This is what I did with it:

Oh there are sooo many things going on here! I already mentioned my own domain, haven't I? Gosh, I can't even remember lol. It's no where near finished but a work in progress! And then there is my new and improved CT, they will introduce themselves this Saturday, in a fun and fabulous blogtrain!! They did these cute QPs with my kit ready to be released this Saturday. It is an ode to randomness ;), and I have a sneak preview for you:

So that was a lot of work, but there is more! A few collabs to get started or finished, a few commercial use products (yeah, I'm loving my new iMac and my Wacom, I'm going back to creating CU products!!) a new CT position and some other stuff, all besides handeling my family :)
Oh, and then there's my fanpage! I passed the 150 marker, but can I make it to 200 fans?? If I do reach 200, I'll give 3 lucky winners a kit of their choice! Suggest my fanpage to your friends and maybe YOU will win!

Ok, hang on tight, this post will contain lots of images! First of all: I don't know about you, but I am so happy the Olympics finally started! I am a fan of speedskating (since that is what Dutch people do best LOL), and I'm very anxious to see how many medals our athletes will bring home! I even watched the opening ceremonies... at 3 AM my time! Yeah, Julian was awake... so I got to watch it live :) I thought about handing out RAKs for every medal 'we' win, but I'm affraid there will be many hehehe. Tonight is the first chance for 'us' to win a medal, so maybe I'll decide to hand out something!
Second of all: I finally got hubby (weird that I call him hubby, since we're not technically married LOL) to help me with getting my own domain! So now I can go ahead and tweek my new Wordpress blog (yeah, I'm making a switch: Blogger to Wordpress ... yikes!) and soon it will go live! Watch this blog for an announcement!
Ok, now on to the new products I have on sale this weekend!!

Here's my new kit: Revive. The swatch was suggested by Blondy, a CT member at SDD, and she wanted to have a spring kit with it. Well, this is what she got! I had so much fun making it, cause I am ... uhm... no big fan of winter LOL. And winter we have... lots of it! Bring on the spring! Wow, I never got a chance to tell you about my newest releases, but I had a very good reason! A very BIG reason, cause my love got me a brand spankin new iMac 22 inch!! I'm in love with it, but I still have to switch from Windows to Mac. Besides that, I needed to transfer all my files (and boy, I have a lot of files!) and I still have to export my custom shapes and brushes and stuff from Photoshop. I am designing a new kit on the Mac, and it's refreshing to not be able to use the brushes and shapes I always use LOL. Oh, and FONTS! I miss my fonts!! But there are a lot of new fonts to check out too, so I just have to adjust. It may take a while ;)
Ok, the last thing I showed you was the collab with LDrag Designs, and the LOs and freebie to go with it. I guess I better show you what I released last Saturday then! *shame*

I'm here to bring you this weeks new releases! It won't be a long post, since we have some sicky buggies flying around in this house. Leonie had a short but heavy stomach flu, and got a cold after that, she gave me the same stomach flu, and seems to have past the cold on to her brother. No runny nose for him, but he breathes heavily sometimes, a bit scary!

Broken nights and new releases

With a very awake baby that uhm... likes my boobies, so to say, I begin to feel the effect of very little sleep. The fact that it's winter, freezing cold and snowy (heck, they even hope we can have an Elfstedentocht this year!) isn't helping much, and I've reached the state where I begin to feel sorry for myself. Ugh, I hate that!! Whenever baby is sleeping during the day, he is in the ringsling, and I can hardly lay down to catch some sleep myself. Ah well, it will get better, eventually, right?

What else did this week bring me? Well, I finally figured out how to let Facebook work for me, and guess what, I already have more than 100 fans on my page! I'm kinda addicted to Farmville, even found a small version of the game for my iPhone. Oh yeah, I got a NEW iPhone!! Dear sweet hubby bought me one :)

Happy New Year everybody!! I hope you had a wonderful 2009 and will have an even better 2010! The year 2009 has been a special one for us, since we found out we we're pregnant again, Leonie went to preschool, we went through potty training and then of course our son was born. The year 2010 will be the year of many 'firsts' for Julian (first word, first solid food etc) and Leonie will be going to 'Kindergarten' in September. Exciting!!

For the new year, I have some things planned. Scrapping resolutions: I want my own domain and will have to redesign my site, I want a newsletter, a Facebook fanpage, cool guestspots, new CT members to accompany the lovely ladies I have now. Of course I will keep on designing, handing out freebies from time to time, so keep checking back!!

Funny story: I first wanted to name these packs 'Happiness' due to the happy colors. But after 'Innocence' and 'Devotion', that just sounded a bit dull. And then I remembered a song that said 'Happiness is just around the corner'. It's actually an awfully happy song (already searched YouTube, but couldn't find it). It's a song by the Vengaboys, a former Dutch-Spanish (?) band back in the '90s. Gosh, if anyone knows this band, you must know how bad it is to have this song in my head LOL 'Hey now, hey now, hear what I say now. Happiness is just around the corner!' *gosh, now it's in my head AGAIN*

Yay, finally!! On December 2nd our little boy showed himself to the world: Julian is born! Ok, little, he is BIG lol, a whopping 5 kilos, but oh so sweet. So you'll understand why this is going to be a fast post, with more news. No fancy ads this time, sorry!

I released a new kit today at Sunshine Studio Scraps, called Innocence. Check it out! I promise to show off some CT layouts when I have the time, ok?

Room to Relax (Nov Surfs Up)

Happy Cyber Monday! LOL, I didn't even know it excisted, and had to google it to find out what it was. Well, to me it is the last day of my -50% Thanksgiving SALE, so make sure you grab the goods while you can!! Oh, and it is also the last day of November, so we are likely to have ourselves a December child... since this little fellow is still INSIDE ME! I'm soooo fed up right now, sooo done with being pregnant. I just keep telling myself it can't be long now. In the Netherlands pregnancies can last up to 42 weeks before action is taken, so just a few more days for me... December 2nd is full moon, so maybe that will be the day. Otherwise it can be December 5th, the day we celebrate Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas, kinda related to Santa Claus). We'll see... we'll see...

We had another big day yesterday in the Netherlands, Sinterklaas came to our country! He will be here till Dec 5th, which is the day he will give us presents, and he will leave for Spain after that. I guess it's kinda like Santa Claus, only Sinterklaas lives in warm and sunny Spain and has Black Petes as his helpers in stead of elves. Christmas celebrations will not start till after Dec 5th, at least in our house LOL We're still waiting for our baby to come too, he's due in 2 weeks, but if he comes late, he might end up being a Sinterklaas present LOL

Celebrating today

For two reasons: first, we celebrate Sint Maarten in parts of The Netherlands. Children craft a lantarn and when it's dark they go by the neighborhood houses to sing songs. When they do, they get a treat. Leonie crafted a beautiful spider lantarn, and she can't wait to 'march' by the houses, as she calls it. It will be her first time tonight! (as a teacher this holiday means something totally different, because we have to get the children to get their lantarns ready in time LOL. But this year was one of the first times I didn't have to think about it, cause I'm on maternity leave!!)

Getting ready for Halloween?

Well, not us, since we don't celebrate Halloween in the Netherlands. We do have something very similar in parts of our country, where we create lanterns and walk around in the neighbourhood singing songs about St. Martin and collect yummies :) It's November 11th though, and it will be the first time Leonie will walk with her own lantern! She already started working on it at school.

I loved working with these colors, they made me think of winter. Ok, I don't even like the winter, wish it were spring already LOL, but I do love the 'cold' colors! Well, probably not LOL I just returned from a week of vacation, but it felt like I have been gone for a month or so! I'm totally relaxed now :) Now only 5 more weeks till my due date :D
Before I left, I made sure some new products would be released while I was gone. Yeah, that's great, right? So, my true fans (LOL) already saw this new kit in stores: Sweet Men!
Yeah, don't know what this baby is doing to be, but I've been scrapping more boyish stuff lately, although this kit will be perfect for scrapping girls too. This is a kit designed with 'grown-up boys' in mind. I loved working with the darker colors, the green and the orange to make it 'pop'! Well, no more babbling, let me show you!!

At Sunshine Studio Scraps it's time for another Colour Splash! What does this mean? Well, a bunch of designers got together, used the same swatch and created all kinds of goodies for you to grab. What a week!

Yesterday I officially reached the '30-weeks-mark': only 10 more weeks till the due date! Time has flown by, specially since I've felt so good during this pregnancy. But... maybe I said that too much out loud, cause I got knocked down the last week. On Tuesday I started to cough a bit (try THAT without using your tummy muscles OUCH), and Wednesday I woke up with massive muscle ache in my belly. Every turn, kick, knock inside, but also bending over or even raising my voice hurt! I called my boss to tell him I wouldn't be able to work on Thursday, and that turned out to be a good thing, cause that afternoon the fever came up. With all the hassle about flu and stuff, I knew I had to call my doc about this, cause I'm in the final trimester of my pregnancy, but I wasn't too worried. On Thursday the fever was gone, thank heaven, and now I only have a nasty cough left. It still hurts like h*ll when I cough, but I'll survive ;)

Ok, enough small talk! New kit time!!

The colors for this kit made me think of a boys kit. For the nursery I have been thinking about an owls - forest theme, so I have been browsing the internet for owls images A LOT the past few weeks. So you see what inspired me ;)

I did a lot of scrapping this summer break, too much to show you (and I don't want to bore you LOL). I scrapped a babybook for my nephew using only my own stuff. For Leonies book I rarely use my own stuff! I use other designers stuff in scrapping to inspire me. So this was a double challenge, cause I have never scrapped for someone else before. But I think it turned out pretty nice! I just have to let the parents tell me some stories to journal, and then it's done!

Yesterday I got pointed to a new-to-me blog, with a new-to-me designer. I picked up some lovely freebies, and today she posted a challenge on her blog. Since I love her style, I just had to try it! Here's what I did:

I journaled about what I learned from working with children and seeing Leonie grow up. I really believe that with the right environement children are able to educate themselves by experimenting a lot. I've learned this from teaching (specially 4-5-6 year olds), and this believe has grown stronger now that I can watch Leonie educate herself. I totally love watching her!!

On Thursday I participated in a SpeedScrap at Scrapable, hosted by the lovely Lindsay aka Spinky Dink Scraps. I joined the chat at step #6 or something... darn timezones! But I managed to get something done by the end of the SS, so I was proud of myself ;)

I used a kit I designed, but it will not be released yet. Hehehe, sneaky peeky!

This journaling is about our summer break. As soon as it started, Leonie stated she wanted to go to 'the beach'. This is funny, cause she has never seen a real beach in her life, so where did she get that idea? To celebrate the start of summer break, we took her to a swimming pool for the first time in her life. She got to pick her own swimming shorts, I showed her some lovely pink, girly ones with flowers, but she picked this one, blue shorts with Miffy LOL. She totally loved going to the pool, but after this day the summer weather was over in The Netherlands. Until this week! So yesterday we took her again, to the same pool. We had a lovely time!

Only one more week, and then my work starts again. Leonie will go back to preschool (she goes there one morning and one afternoon per week) and to the babysitter (she goes there 2 days a week), and our lives will turn back to normal. I only have to work 9 weeks till my pregnancy leave starts, so I think time will go really fast!

What else have I been up to? Well, I did a LOT of scrapping, finished all the pages I need for another book for Leonie, and I have been working on a book for my nephew (my first S4O project!). And I have been designing a LOT too, but there's nothing I can show you yet. I'm working on numerous collabs and have created some minis for Scrapable and charity. I have an amazing mojo these days, so I plan to keep using it for 2 more weeks. After that it's back to work! Well, only 9 weeks, after that my pregnancy leave starts *yay*

I'm turning 29 tomorrow! I more year till the big 3-0, so I'll enjoy it ;) I wish the weather was better her in Holland, I would invite you to a b-day bbq, but it's raining cats and dogs here... Ugh!
So, in stead of letting you all fly to The Netherlands, I came up with something else! From tomorrow on, I will have a special celebration on my blog. Yay, I told you, news was on its way! The new kit had to be released by today, cause it was my turn to design the Friday freebie, and I made an add-on for this new kit for the occassion. First things first: here is the kit!

Couch Cuddles is inspired by my daughter. I was playing with the colors for this kit and created some papers, but couldn't make them work together. There was no theme in my head, and I struggled to make it match. Then my daughter, who was watching tv, suddenly out of nowhere wanted to cuddle! Sooo sweet, and I got really inspired by that! So, here's a sweet kit, with lots of love and tender hugs. Enjoy!

This is not a new kit, but it deserves a new blogpost, and I'll tell you why!

A while ago Shari (aka Doohikey Designs) and I teamed up to create a lovely boys kit. We called it Baby Lizard (actually Shari came up with this name, but I don't know why anymore LOL), that just seemed to fit the pallet we chose to work with! It became a fun kit with lizards, frogs and cute boys stuff. Then we sold it at Digital Paper Hearts. When I moved to Scrapable, repackaging this kit went to my to-do-list, and it stayed there... But thank goodness, Shari saw a way to create a new preview and make this kit look even better and cuter!!

So, I'm promoting it again, and this time it means soooo much to me to have this kit, cause I hope to be able to scrap some cute babyboy pages with it at the end of the year!! YAY!

One kit call!

I have finished another kit, called Captured. Although I have a perfectly fine CT (those girls are GREAT, they gave me wonderful feedback! MWAH!), I wanted to do a one-kit-call with it, to see what other people would do with this kit. I think it is a slightly different style then I'm used to, like someone said to me: this pregnancy gets my creative juices flowing!!

Ow, btw (reallllly off topic, hope you don't mind!): have I told you the sex of our little babe-in-belly yet? We're going to have a BOY! We are soooo happy! Of course the most important thing is that the ultrasound didn't show anything unusual, all the things were in the right place, everything was working perfectly fine. And then we found out our girl is going to be a big sister to a BOY! I bought the first blue babyclothes today, and cleaned out Leonie's closet: 3 boxes of pink clothes to the attic ;)

Ok, back to business LOL Here's the kit! (and a word-art pack to match)

Today I am exactly 20 weeks pregnant, yahooooooo! Next Wednesday we will have another ultrasound (that is common here in The Netherlands, we have one at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks). We hope to find out the sex of our baby then, I'm so excited!

I needed a card for a co-worker, and for the first time in my life I created my own card. Seriously! Me, a digiscrapper, designer, I always buy my cards LOL

I used a standard Dutch size for this card, folded it is 10x15 cm. This is almost 6x4 inches, I hope this works for you. If you need another size, please let me know!
This freebie contains 1 .psd file, and a .jpg sample of the card I created using my Signs of Spring. I printed some four-leaf-clovers and put them on top, as well as a small ribbon bow. Have fun!
