Scrap therapy

Yay, I got time to scrap today!! Here's what I did:

A page about Leonie being creative, I love her creativity!! I used DumDaDum kit and alpha2 and scraplifted a LO by Snowdrop (Scrapmatters)

Here's a page about Leonie starting to recognize letters (after eating a bowl of M&Ms LOL). I used Colorful Memories and tried to follow the Roadmap to scrap (Scrapmatters)

And here's one for the Inspiration challenge (Scrapmatters) where I used a template by Sya's Blueprints (Movie-spiration take two) and my Captured kit and word-art.

Thanks for looking! I have a birthday today (my father) and tomorrow (mother in law), but will be back with a sneak peek to a new collab, to be released this weekend!!

Lots to show you

Ok, hang on tight, this post will contain lots of images! First of all: I don't know about you, but I am so happy the Olympics finally started! I am a fan of speedskating (since that is what Dutch people do best LOL), and I'm very anxious to see how many medals our athletes will bring home! I even watched the opening ceremonies... at 3 AM my time! Yeah, Julian was awake... so I got to watch it live :) I thought about handing out RAKs for every medal 'we' win, but I'm affraid there will be many hehehe. Tonight is the first chance for 'us' to win a medal, so maybe I'll decide to hand out something!
Second of all: I finally got hubby (weird that I call him hubby, since we're not technically married LOL) to help me with getting my own domain! So now I can go ahead and tweek my new Wordpress blog (yeah, I'm making a switch: Blogger to Wordpress ... yikes!) and soon it will go live! Watch this blog for an announcement!
Ok, now on to the new products I have on sale this weekend!!

Here's my new kit: Revive. The swatch was suggested by Blondy, a CT member at SDD, and she wanted to have a spring kit with it. Well, this is what she got! I had so much fun making it, cause I am ... uhm... no big fan of winter LOL. And winter we have... lots of it! Bring on the spring! This kit is on a 30% sale this weekend at SUN, so be sure to grab it! Fast!
Here's some CT inspiration (and check out the new CT members, they'll be properly introduced on the new site, I promise!)

On to the next event: Birds of a Feather weekend at SDD! Many designers got together, used the same swatch (ain't it pretty for Valentines?) and created small packs of goodies, all available for $1 each! BUT, you can only grab them for this special price THIS WEEKEND! So head on over to SDD, and check out all the packs out there! This is what I have:

New stuff

I'm here to bring you this weeks new releases! It won't be a long post, since we have some sicky buggies flying around in this house. Leonie had a short but heavy stomach flu, and got a cold after that, she gave me the same stomach flu, and seems to have past the cold on to her brother. No runny nose for him, but he breathes heavily sometimes, a bit scary!

Well, first of all: here's another set of Lucky #7 templates, perfect for P365! Each template has room to journal (paths are already there), so you can make your weekly pages nice and easy.
available at SUN and SDD (30% off this weekend only!)

And you may remember Touch of Elegance, the stuff I did for the Birds of a Feather event at SDD. I released it as a kit at SUN this week!

available at SUN (30% off this weekend only!)

Here's some CT inspiration:
layouts by Pam, Jenn and Jane (she used Lucky#7 too!)
And here's one by Brandy, using Comfort Zone
I did get some time to scrap, or maybe I should say: I needed some time to scrap. I bought the One Love charity collab (available here) and MAN it is jam packed with goodies! Well worth the money!

The first picture of daddy, mommy and Julian. Leonie saw this LO, and said: hey, where am I? I should be in there too!!

Broken nights and new releases

With a very awake baby that uhm... likes my boobies, so to say, I begin to feel the effect of very little sleep. The fact that it's winter, freezing cold and snowy (heck, they even hope we can have an Elfstedentocht this year!) isn't helping much, and I've reached the state where I begin to feel sorry for myself. Ugh, I hate that!! Whenever baby is sleeping during the day, he is in the ringsling, and I can hardly lay down to catch some sleep myself. Ah well, it will get better, eventually, right?

What else did this week bring me? Well, I finally figured out how to let Facebook work for me, and guess what, I already have more than 100 fans on my page! I'm kinda addicted to Farmville, even found a small version of the game for my iPhone. Oh yeah, I got a NEW iPhone!! Dear sweet hubby bought me one :)

On to this weeks new releases! (remember: the new releases are on -30% during this weekend!)

Messy Blocks, a set of 7 templates (great to use in P365 or P52!) *available at SUN - SDD *

Lucky #7, another template pack, this time with room for 7 pics *available at SUN - SDD *

In case anyone LIKES winter LOL, here are 5 alphas to match your pages *available at SUN - SDD *

Here's some CT inspiration:

(kits used: Colorful Memories, As we Look Back, Frozen Days and Last train to Paris)

This fun LO was created by Angie with a Lucky #7 template and the SUN grabbag Bubblegum Fun.

I created a LO with this grabbag myself, and I love it if I can say so myself!

Thanks for looking! Check back soon for a sneak peek at the kit I will release next weekend, or drop by my personal Facebook page to say hi :)

Freebie card template

I needed a card for a co-worker, and for the first time in my life I created my own card. Seriously! Me, a digiscrapper, designer, I always buy my cards LOL

I used a standard Dutch size for this card, folded it is 10x15 cm. This is almost 6x4 inches, I hope this works for you. If you need another size, please let me know!
This freebie contains 1 .psd file, and a .jpg sample of the card I created using my Signs of Spring. I printed some four-leaf-clovers and put them on top, as well as a small ribbon bow. Have fun!

Don't forget to check out the Thank goodness, it's Friday sales at Scrapable. I'm putting all my kits on sale, -20% TODAY ONLY!

it's been a while

I'm so sorry, I have had a lot of things going on, but couldn't find the time to blog about it!! And now I don't even know where to start...

Ok, first things first: I am no longer co-owner at Digital Paper Hearts. I made this decision with pain in my heart, and I want to say that there was absolutely no drama involved. I love that place very much, just couldn't handle all the things that a co-owner has to handle. I decided that it would be best to leave DPH all together, but haven't been good at explaining this to others... Let's just say it's best for me, and wish all the girls at DPH the very very best!!

So... I needed another store to crash! Luckily I had an e-mail from a store asking me if I would like a spot. I rejected at first, but e-mailed them again to see if they still wanted me. They said yes :), so now I am repackiging to go exclusive at another store. Insiders will know when they see the freebie below, or maybe you even heard about it, but I will be officially open for business on June 1st. Hey, I am going to put everything I have repackaged on a -35% sale, what about that?? Plus, I have a new kit finished, waiting to see the daylight. My new CT is working on it as we speak, so check back on June 1st!!

Yes, my CT :) Did I already mention my new CT? I have a very official CT, and I'm so happy! I will introduce them properly later, for now here's just their names: Jana, Jenn, Kim, Tonje and Fleur. You'll get to know them, I'm sure!!

Ok, I think I told everything you needed to know. But did you know my designer-birthday is coming up? My very first freebie was handed out on this blog on June 14th 2008. I'm planning some fun activities for that occasion, so check back on June 14th, a year later! (oh please, don't check the archives, my first freebies were HORRIBLE!!)

For all of you who read with me till this point: here's a freebie template! It's been a while since I shared a template, so I hope you like it. The download contains a .psd file, as well as all seperate layers in .png format. Enjoy!

I scrapped

I participated in some challenge at GroovyScraps! You know that if you participate in them, you get a part of the designers collab, right? So if you participate in all challenges, you have the whole kit complete! Isn't that an awesome deal?? Well, it's nice to get a gift for posting, but I use the challenges to get some pages done. Designing takes away a lot of my scrapping time, so sitting down and doing some challenges helps me to stay on track ;)
This is made with Rose's template:

This is the layout I scrapped with the challenge freebie by Sassy Scraps. Well, actually her challenge is a bragbook challenge, so I created a bragbook page too. Participating in her challenge will not only get you her freebie, it will also get you her posting gift AND all the bragbook created by other people, so you can create a little book yourself. NICE!

And for my Dutch readers: this is for you! Click preview to download!! You can also 'save as', but blogger resizes the images...

Look at Mii!

LOL, this is Leonie playing with Wii Music. It is so funny to see her play with the [c'puter], she really loves Nintendogs on the DS. I have ordered Animal Crossing for the Wii, it was my all time favourite on the DS, so I'm really excited!

Daily Download part23

* Fall Splendor visitors: please scroll down to the previous post! *

It is the 1st of October, and I have a lot to share with you! This month I'm hosting the Template Challenge at ScrappyThoughts, so I had to create a Template and a participation bonus. This is what I came up with!

You can download the template here

This SmallNShiney add-on is what you receive for participating! Check the topic in the forum!

And this is what I did with the template. I used my Whispers of Nature vol. 1 and 2, and some lovely pictures of Leonie. She is in a 'I'll do it myself' phase right now, so she wants to do everything that we do, like driving the car!

Ok, that's part one of this post. Part 2 is the October collab at Scrappy Thoughts, named BlockParty! The designers worked very hard on this one, and I think the colors are really fun to scrap with. This collab is now in store for $6.00 $3.00 the first week, go check it out!!!

And last but not least: the 23nd part of the daily download! Today I have a sunflower and the W for you. Only 3 more letters!!

new template and a tut

This is a tutorial-special for Carol from Brazil :D

I created another template called Around the Block (I was inspired by a challenge at Snap and Scrap, go check them out!) and am including a tutorial on how to use them. Enjoy!

First of all: my templates are in psd-format, which means they can be used in Adobe Photoshop. When you downloaded the file, and open it, you will see something like this:

There are 2 layers you need to read, and then make invisible. You can do that by either clicking on the eye in front of the layername, or by right-clicking with the mouse, and then choose 'delete layer'. After you do that, you'll have the template ready to use.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 2:

Open a paper you would like to use as your background. Hold ctrl+A to select the paper and then hold ctrl+C to copy it (or use your own way of selecting and copying). Go back to the template, make sure you click on the layer that is labeled 'background' (this layer-name becomes blue).

-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 3:

now hold ctrl+V to paste the paper onto the background. It should look something like this.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 4:

Open a paper you would like to use in one of the blocks. For small blocks it's nice to use patterned papers. Here's what I chose:

Again: hold ctrl+A and ctrl+C to select and copy.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 5:

Go back to your template, make sure you select the right layer with the block you want to fill (by clicking on it and making it blue). Hold ctrl+V to paste the paper onto your template.

It should look like this, don't be scared! The things below the paper aren't gone, check the next step.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 6:

Remember the clipping mask from the last tutorial? If not, check it here. You'll need this info to go on.

We are going to clip the patterned paper to the block. Hold the alt-button on your keyboard, and click between the layers of the patterned paper and the block. The patterned paper should be on top of the block you want to fill. When you clip them together, it should look like this:

Continue this process with other papers or with photo's, it works in the same way.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 7:

Now play with some other items, you don't have to leave the template in the exact way you downloaded it. Make it your own, by adding journaling, your own title (just double click on the title-layer and type away) and elements. The template is only a way to inspire you to create a unique layout. In the end it could look like this:

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions please let me know!
